Postcard advertising Duncan's Royal Scotch collies
Sheffield
1900-1919

Duncan's Royal Scotch collies appeared at the Sheffield Empire in March 1908 and August 1910, described as lsquo;not called the lsquo;canine actors rsquo; for nothing. They can somersault, play the harmonium, and give a realistic representation of a fire, with rescues by the life-ladder, in a way that provokes both applause and amusement.'

Rear of postcard shows an advertisement for the Fred Reynolds' Agency, Sheffield.

This image was originally part of the Tim Hale Photographic Collection. It was purchased at auction in September 2019 through donations from members of the public and a grant from the Graves Trust.
